Mashed peas bite. And I don't mean that in a nice way.

But mashed bananas! Mashed bananas are another story altogether. They positively dance on the palate.

Dear Naomi,

I don't like peas either, mashed or otherwise! Peas however, are one of Uncle Steve's favorites but I think he's graduated from the mashed phase, at least for the time being!

Oh, by the way, daddy used to be mesmerized by the television too. Grammy used to say that he would watch the test patterns if you let him. Maybe some day when you're old enough mommy and daddy will let you watch the test patterns, that is if they still run on broadcast tv!

Love,

Aunt Cathy and Uncle Steve

Yes, I am well acquainted with Daddy's childhood addiction to test patterns. Maybe that's why he gets so upset when he finds me glued to the screen.

Dear Naomi,

The positive thing about tv these days is that there are so many more choices than back in the old days when daddy was a kid. You should ask mommy and daddy to let you watch Live at Lincoln Center or Live at the Met when it is on. For lighter fare you might try the Vicar of Dibley, but that would probably have to be taped because I think it is on past your bedtime. Then there are the classics like I Love Lucy!

Love,

Aunt Cathy and Uncle Steve.
