My 4-month check-up

Well, I had another doctor's visit today. Turns out I weigh 13 pounds, 4 ounces and am 25 inches long. The doctor says I'm in the 50th percentile for weight, length and head circumference for little girls my age (four months), which makes me pretty much perfect! I didn't poop and pee all over the exam table this time, but I did cheese on the doctor just a little bit. Then the nurse came in and gave me an "oral vaccine" (tasty) and a shot in each thigh (nasty). I confess I cried a bit, and this afternoon I am sleepy and cranky. But tonight is Halloween so I'm looking forward to seeing all the pretty costumes!

Fun with hymnals

Here's Daddy striking a fire-and-brimstone pose with one of Mommy's hymnals. He is such a laff riot! I was much impressed, as you can see.

Brrrr

Last night, we had something called a "hard frost", and this morning, the 'rents bundled me up in all kinds of soft, warm things before venturing outdoors. I can't say I mind a bit!

My birthday video!

The 'rents were looking through videos taken over the past 3 months and found this 2-minute clip of me and Mommy in the recovery room, taken by Daddy just a few minutes after I was born. It's hard to believe I was ever that little... or that shrill! Mommy seems happy but really wiped out for some reason. I wonder why?

Reading rocks!

Every evening, one of the 'rents props me up on his or her knee, cracks open a thing with pretty pictures, and begins speaking very animatedly. I believe this is called "reading", and I have to admit it's fascinating. Mommy sometimes reads me recipes, and Daddy even reads me the comics section from the Sunday paper! I expect I'll be fully literate in a couple of months.

My baptism was the best!

All four of my grand-rents, two aunts, an uncle, and my uncle's dad came to Syracuse to see me baptized this past Sunday. I wore Papa Bern's 82-year-old gown he wore for his bris (I don't know what a bris is, but apparently it has nothing to do with little girls). Aunt Cathy and Uncle Steve sang me a song and made everyone cry. That's what I was told anyway; I actually slept through most of the service, up to the point where Pastor Wendy dribbled water on my head. Daddy had just washed my peach fuzz the night before, so I'm not sure what that was all about. Then she took me all around the church so everyone could ooh and aah over me. When she handed me back to the 'rents, I protested loudly -- I did so enjoy being the center of attention! Check out these pics:

It was a tad overwhelming at first.

Isn't my church pretty?

My 'rents were so proud!

So were Grandma and Grandpa Parr, and Aunt Trish.
What a day!

I dig Daddy

Yes, I did have my baptism this past weekend, and yes, it was awesome. I'm waiting for my grand-rents, aunts and uncles to provide me with pics of the ceremony. In the meantime, here are some pics of me and Daddy. I'm just now starting to discover how amusing he is. In fact, he is high-larious. Not a bad pillow, either.

Let's party

I'm now preparing for an infusion of out-of-town relatives coming to see me baptized this Sunday. I'm sure to be kissed, cooed over, passed around like a football, and much admired overall. Life is good!
